About The Position

The Stress Specialist will be responsible for performing structural stress analyses to validate and certify 3D design models. In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders and demonstrate leadership within the engineering team.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of CATIA V5 design and modeling software.
  • Familiarity with ENOVIA product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
  • Experience using NASTRAN, PATRAN, FEMAP, and HYPERMESH software.
  • Strong teamwork and effective communication skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability for assigned tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities effectively and adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Demonstrated adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both written and spoken) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the definition and development of structural concepts.
  • Perform stress analyses on complex structures and assemblies.
  • Follow up with clients and provide reports on analysis results and quality assessments.
  • Contribute to the definition of certification test plans.
  • Participate in the preparation and validation of certification reports.
  • Support the continuous improvement of analysis and calculation methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other technical disciplines on structural stress and material-related issues.
  • Review and verify reports prepared by other team members.
  • Support the Project Manager in workload planning and resource allocation.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and bids.
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor other members of the engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain quality procedures and documentation.
  • Serve as the stress analysis subject matter expert for weight engineering projects.
  • Support SOGECLAIR in projects involving the development of new clients and business opportunities.
  • Understand and comply with AS9100 requirements applicable to the responsibilities of this position.
  • Follow the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and apply the appropriate tools in the execution of assigned tasks.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.
