About The Position

The position holder is responsible for leading the coordination of business transactions between our company Canada Inc. and our third-party distribution supplier. This person oversees the interface monitoring, posting manually failed transactions or raising issues to the right level, to ensure the alignment between COMET system and the 3PL physical reality. The goal is to guarantee business continuity to supply the market, following the global guidelines, standards and SOP’s. Work closely with Order Management, IT, Planning, QA, and Finance. This position will also lead and direct all activities and improvements related to imports, exports, Customs, and transportation, including freight forwarders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Administration or Engineering.
  • Five years in the pharmaceutical industry (preferred)
  • Good knowledge and understanding in International Transportation and Custom trade
  • Certified in Dangerous Goods and CBSA certified Custom Specialist (preferred)
  • Fluency in French is required
  • SAP environment.
  • Ability to perform with Excel
  • Transport and Logistic knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills a must
  • GMP knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Act as first level of support for the IT relationship between our company Canada and our (3PL) Third Party Logistic Provider regarding daily 3PL activity
  • SAP Subject matter export for the 3PL interface and transactions
  • Involved with any User Acceptance Testing required with our 3PL
  • EDI interface / technical Support (TIBCO, LIASON) EDI monitoring, IDOC failures
  • Logistics main point of contact for all Health Canada and Finance audits
  • Analyze, trouble shoot and report the OTIF metrics for Human Health.
  • Work on projects related to cost savings, compliance and customer service
  • Work with Order management to improve customer relations, investigate service issues, improve scheduled shipments and deliveries
  • Monitor KPI’s and follow up on missed orders, ensure alignment on shipped and open orders, inform Order management of issues
  • Responsible for inventory control and management, discards, reconciliations between SAP and 3PL (SAGE)
  • Canada logistic claims and throughput analysis
  • Work with 3PL on all inventory, receiving, quality/release/ concerns.
  • Process supporting transactions in SAP for domestic and international shipments as required
  • Involved in all product launch meetings and any set up required in SAP / SAGE to support new products
  • Responsible for all month end and quarter end SOX and D&L reporting and daily checks to make sure all deliveries have posted
  • Follow up on all outstanding QA, IT, Order Management and Finance issues affecting inventory and or transactions
  • Attend 3PL meetings, raising concerns and or providing feedback
  • Dangerous goods, maintaining and updating product set up forms with planning)
  • Monitor transportation metrics – on time deliveries, damages and claims
  • Look for value capture savings and improvements to processes and procedures
  • Analyze root cause and coordinate fixes for issues related to the 3PL and or transportation
  • Quarterly destruction process

  • Assist core function groups within our company Canada (order management, planning, finance, regulatory and quality)
  • Lead and direct all activities and improvements related to imports, exports, Customs, and transportation, including freight forwarders.
  • Management of Freight Forwarders for both international and domestic including Customs broker
  • Liaison with our company's sites for optimization of import/export shipments and transportation lane set-up
  • Interaction with Demand Fulfillment, Quality Control, Distribution Centers and shipping sites
  • Coordination of imports and exports
  • Transportation Freight Forwarding trouble shooting and resolution
  • Importer of Record accuracy, Custom requirements and timely release from Customs
  • Communication with Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) as required for questions related to product classification, tariff code, Nafta, duty, etc.
  • Resolution of disputes and answer questions from Governmental agencies including audits
  • Coordinate with our company Canada Regulatory Affairs on matters relating to Health Canada and imports (DELs, DINs)
  • Review all Import and Export documents for our company Canada to ensure compliance
  • Support requests from other divisions for all trade questions
  • Provide guidance for Transportation of dangerous good classification under IATA, Clear Language Act and IMDG regulations
  • Formulate recommendations on improvements and cost saving.
  • Provide support to projects and value capture development and implementation
  • Keep certification up to date with HAZMAT for AIR, OCEAN, GROUND mode of shipments
  • Maintain registration with CBSA as a Customs Specialists.
  • Back up support for the Specialist Logistic position in key areas including freight bill payments for international shipments and Custom transactions paid by Canada, invoice audits, creation and update of Purchase orders, timing of payments and monthly accrual
  • Other duties as assigned (internal stakeholders)
