About The Position

The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program is looking for an Aerostructure & Fuselage Integration Architect to join our Chief Engineering team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will collaborate closely with Centers of Excellence and Architecture leads in Europe. You will be part of the Global Physical Design team, responsible for steering the technical evolution of the overall airframe. The team is organized to promote autonomous cross-functional collaboration, mutual support, and collective learning. In your role as an Aerostructure Architect, you will carry out Chief Engineering responsibilities for some specific airframe sections, translating program objectives into technical requirements and ensuring platform integrity.

Requirements

  • University Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Engineering or an equivalent field
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in aerospace structures (design, integration, or architecture)
  • Exceptional ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence decision-makers on an international scale
  • Proven ability to make firm, informed decisions in contexts of uncertainty or rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent knowledge of interactions between the airframe, onboard systems, and cabin interiors
  • Strong communication skills in a transnational context (Fluent in French and English)

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years' experience as a Chief Engineer or in Structural Design or Stress Analysis is a major asset
  • Creative mindset, autonomy, and the ability to lead within an international network.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the reference authority (Single Point of Contact) for Chief Engineering across the entire fuselage lifecycle, from R&T to in-service support, including certification and regulatory matters.
  • Orchestrate the technical roadmap and prioritize design modifications to ensure the long-term consistency and competitiveness of the fuselage definition.
  • Define and drive high-level requirements to ensure optimal architectural solutions, balancing weight, cost, and manufacturability imperatives.
  • Mobilize and lead multidisciplinary teams (IPT/PDT) on large-scale projects, integrating aerostructure, systems, and cabin constraints.
  • Exercise decisive arbitration authority during complex technical reviews, aligning technological choices with Airbus's global product strategy.
  • Guide engineering teams toward operational excellence while fostering an agile and high-performing collaborative environment.
  • Maximize collaboration with European Centers of Excellence to integrate global best practices and fuel the A220 R&T portfolio.
  • Anticipate critical bottlenecks (technical, regulatory, or production) and deploy mitigation strategies to secure program milestones.
