About The Position

This posting is intended to fill an existing vacancy for our bilingual Reimbursement Specialist role. The Reimbursement Specialist will coordinate and manage all aspects required to obtain prescription drug coverage for patients. This involves coordinating cases with insurance companies, physician’ offices, and healthcare professionals to maximize reimbursement solutions. The role also includes coordinating documents, submissions, and related paperwork to insurance companies and public/federal funding programs. A key responsibility is implementing the Financial Means Test to maximize patient coverage and coordinating pharmacy processes once funding is obtained. The specialist will also acquire in-depth knowledge of public/private and federal funding mechanisms and is responsible for reporting all Adverse Events. The role may also be assigned other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in customer service, in an office setting
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Professional / courteous / efficient telephone manner
  • Proven ability to organize time, set priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Bilingualism, French and English is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical or insurance industry is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects required in order to obtain prescription drug coverage for patients

  • Implement Financial Means Test as required in an effort to maximize patient’s prescription drug coverage
  • Coordinate pharmacy processes required once funding has been obtained
  • Acquire in depth knowledge of public / private and federal funding mechanisms
  • Responsible to report all Adverse Events to the assigned units/departments
  • The Reimbursement Specialist will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time
