About The Position

The Sow Farm Team Member assists with daily sow and piglet care and farm operations in pork production. The role includes animal care, maintaining farm cleanliness and biosecurity, keeping breeding and farrowing records, and supporting sow and piglet health. This is a temp-to-hire position located in Waynesfield, Ohio, paying $16 per hour.

Requirements

• Available for early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift 50 lbs on a consecutive basis.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Passion for agriculture.

Nice To Haves

• GED or high school diploma preferred.
• Previous farm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with feeding, watering, and moving sows and piglets.
• Perform housekeeping assignments, including power washing and disinfecting.
• Follow all biosecurity procedures.
• Keep accurate breeding and farrowing records.
• Perform vaccinations and help provide treatment to maintain sow health.
• Process, treat, castrate, and wean piglets.
• Heat check and artificially inseminate sows.
• Handle multiple assignments and tasks around the farm.
