About The Position

The Sow Farm Team Member assists with daily sow and piglet care and farm operations at a pork production facility in Waynesfield, Ohio. The role includes feeding, watering, and moving animals; maintaining cleanliness and biosecurity; recording breeding and farrowing information; supporting animal health; and processing and caring for piglets. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $17–$20 per hour.

Requirements

• Available for early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift 50 lbs on a consecutive basis.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Passion for agriculture.

Nice To Haves

• GED or high school diploma preferred.
• Previous farm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with feeding, watering, and moving sows and piglets.
• Perform housekeeping assignments, including power washing and disinfecting.
• Follow all biosecurity procedures.
• Keep accurate breeding and farrowing records.
• Perform vaccinations and help provide treatment to maintain sow health.
• Process, treat, castrate, and wean piglets.
• Heat check and artificially inseminate sows.
• Handle multiple assignments and tasks around the farm.
