About The Position

The South Grounds Team Leader is responsible for directing day-to-day crew operations, providing training and mentoring, and enforcing company safety regulations. This role also involves performing and overseeing specialized grounds maintenance tasks, ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of equipment, and maintaining quality control to meet established landscaping standards. Additionally, the Team Leader will handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping and communicate project progress to relevant parties.

Requirements

• Proven experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance, with leadership experience often required.
• Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, and pest management.
• Often requires a valid driver's license and sometimes specialized certifications (e.g., pesticide applicator).
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment.
• Proficient in operating, repairing, and maintaining professional landscaping tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day crew operations, provides training and mentoring, and enforces company safety regulations.
• Performs and oversees specialized tasks including mowing, pruning, irrigation repair, tree care, fertilization, and snow removal.
• Ensures proper operation, maintenance, and safety of tools, vehicles, and machinery.
• Inspects completed work to ensure it meets established landscaping standards.
• Keeps records of materials used, and work orders.
• Communicates with admin, stakeholders, or superiors regarding project progress.
