About The Position

A Groundskeeper is a position that requires basic working knowledge of landscaping and exterior maintenance that is required for the general upkeep of a multi-campus facility’s grounds. Snow removal and other preventative safety operations will be required. Routine is not always common as the tasks can come up randomly with various priority levels depending on weather and/or available resources. There will also be occasional minor electrical work pertaining to task such as retrofitting light fixtures in parking garages, replacing lamps on parking lot lights, tracing underground wiring, repair or maintenance to small engines. The Groundskeeper may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary and approved by supervisor.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Driver’s License
Basic knowledge of irrigation, small engine mechanics, and tree pruning and hedge trimming.
Operation of a 2-cycle hand equipment
Communication skills
Ability to prioritize workload
Operation of a host of electric power tools and hand tools

Nice To Haves

Previous exterior maintenance experience
Electrical and/or plumbing certifications
Operations of a forklift truck
