This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages the logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly. The Manager, Strategic Sourcing (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for optimizing procurement operations by managing sourcing strategies and supplier relationships to reduce costs and ensure quality. You will build effective relationships with internal partners to align sourcing strategies with procurement needs and lead teams to ensure productivity and alignment with departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for assigned categories of goods and services, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support efficient sourcing, supply continuity, and business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify qualified vendors based on cost, quality, service, and reliability.
  • Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including Requests for Proposal (RFPs), supplier selection, contract negotiations, and performance management.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through supplier optimization, process improvements, and sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions to ensure quality, service, and delivery expectations are met.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, contractual obligations, and budget requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and value creation.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting to support business and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to all GxP regulations, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Support quality assurance and regulatory compliance through strict adherence to established processes and controls.
  • Complete all required training and maintain current knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Contributes to a culture of compliance, quality, and continuous improvement across the organization.
