About The Position

The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of our sourcing strategy for TJX products designed in-house by our Product Design team. The responsibilities may include managing a sourcing specialist, procure sustainable materials with an eye on quality, newness and innovation, negotiating prices, and building strong internal and external relationships. This role collaborates with Product Development, Merchants, GS&P, Direct Vendors, Buying Agents, Global Buying Offices, Sustainability Team, and Legal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Merchandising, Finance or relevant experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel: pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Able to unify and clearly present ideas to individuals and groups
  • Collaborative; works well in a team environment; strong communication skills
  • Meets deadlines; responds appropriately in a timely manner
  • Excellent multi-tasker, able to manage multiple projects/ programs simultaneously

  • Production, Retail Math, Logistics Timing
  • International Commerce Rules/Regulations, Specialized Country Knowledge, Finance, Macro Economics, Sustainability Regulations and Tracking and more
  • Leads negotiations to achieve the best possible product mix at the target profit margins
  • Creates and executes negotiations strategy
  • Is the central point of communication for all Stakeholders (Agents/Vendors, Merchants, Product Team, etc) throughout the negotiations process
  • Maintains Costing dataset and related reporting, ensures accuracy and timeliness
  • Find and evaluate potential suppliers based on key criteria, including but not limited to capabilities, capacity, pricing/value, financial health and other considerations
  • Monitor supplier performance, capacity and health
  • Partner with Business Unit to create grow/maintain/shrink strategy based on the above and on business needs; executes strategy, monitors results, adjusts course as needed
  • Drives the business by transforming data and research into strategy and action; data and research may include: Product, Programs and Customer Needs , Business Intelligence , Inputs, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Order History
