About The Position

The Sourcing Manager, Logistics leads and executes strategic sourcing activities for logistics-related categories, including ocean freight, warehousing, fleet management, and pallets, with an estimated annual spend of $350 million. The role partners with key business stakeholders to develop cost-reduction strategies and implementation plans focused on reducing total cost of ownership while optimizing supplier performance. The position develops category strategies, sourcing processes, supplier relationships, savings models, and annual operating plans. It also represents the sourcing area in sustainability, regulatory, and risk-management efforts; supports supplier compliance with applicable food-safety regulations; and manages procurement policy, contracting, and contract administration. The role uses data and analytics to develop insights and recommendations and communicates complex ideas to a broad audience. It builds relationships across organizational levels and leads small cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related area from an accredited university.
At least 5 years of strategic procurement or logistics operations experience within complex logistics or supply-chain organizations.
At least 5 years of SAP/Ariba or similar ERP experience.
Expertise with analytical tools such as Excel.
Expertise in MS Word, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across organizational levels and functions.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute strategic sourcing activities for logistics-related categories, including ocean freight, warehousing, fleet management, and pallets.
Create an environment of strategic collaboration with suppliers and develop long-term supplier relationships.
Translate business requirements into detailed specifications for category sourcing.
Develop and update financial savings models with Finance support.
Help prepare the Annual Operating Plan for assigned categories.
Conduct industry deep-dive analysis and provide proactive category insights.
Develop and execute category strategies with key business partners to address business needs.
Define sourcing and procurement processes in Ariba, including RFQs, RFPs, RFIs, online auctions, collaborative sourcing, and multi-event negotiations.
Represent the sourcing area in corporate environmental sustainability and regulatory efforts.
Ensure supplier risks are proactively understood and business-continuity plans are in place for potential supply interruptions.
Ensure suppliers comply with applicable federal, national, regional, and local food-safety regulations.
Influence stakeholders on procurement policies and practices and on legal and financial requirements for purchasing.
Execute legal contracting and contract administration in Ariba as required by policy.
Use analytical tools to draw conclusions and make recommendations from large data sets.
Communicate complex ideas and approaches effectively to a wide audience, orally and in writing.
Build strong customer relationships and interact with organizational stakeholders from senior executives through middle management.
Collaborate with critical cross-functional groups and build internal and external partnerships.
Drive continuous improvement and lead small cross-functional teams toward shared goals.
Pursue tasks with energy and drive to meet deadlines despite obstacles and setbacks.
