Sourcing Manager- Facilities and Construction
About The Position
1X is building humanoid robots for home use, aiming to give people their time back by handling chores and tasks. This requires solving complex challenges in robotics, AI, and manufacturing at scale. The Infrastructure & Indirect Sourcing team is responsible for building the operational foundation that enables 1X to scale its global humanoid robot production. They partner with various departments like Facilities, IT, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Finance, and HR to ensure all necessary sites, systems, and services are in place to support rapid growth. This team is crucial in transforming ambitious plans into operational reality as the company expands its footprint and production capacity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management.
- Demonstrated sourcing expertise within facilities, construction, infrastructure services, MEP trades, or CAPEX-related categories.
- Proven experience leading sourcing activities end-to-end, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract execution, and supplier management.
- Strong commercial, contract negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or technology environments.
- Experience sourcing construction services, general contractors, electrical contractors, HVAC/mechanical services, or infrastructure-related trades.
- Familiarity with facility buildouts, site expansions, tenant improvements, and capital project execution.
- Experience managing large-scale facilities services agreements or integrated facilities management providers.
- Experience supporting multi-site or global operations.
Responsibilities
- Own sourcing strategy and supplier management for facilities, construction, and infrastructure-related categories that support site expansion and operational scaling at 1X.
- Secure suppliers, services, and commercial agreements needed to deliver facility buildouts, infrastructure upgrades, and ongoing site operations while balancing cost, quality, speed, and risk.
- Deliver sourcing support for facility expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and capital projects that meet business timelines and operational requirements.
- Achieve measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and commercial improvements across assigned construction, facilities, and infrastructure categories.
- Build and maintain a high-performing supplier network capable of supporting current operations and future site growth.
- Drive supplier performance through established KPIs focused on cost, quality, responsiveness, and service levels.
- Mitigate commercial and operational risk through strong contract management, supplier diversification, and contingency planning.
