About The Position
Recycling Works / Waste Connections is hiring a 1st Shift Recycle Center Sorter in Elkhart, Indiana. The role processes incoming recyclable materials, sorts them onto conveyor belts, and moves materials to designated areas. The sorter also helps keep the recycling area and outdoor yard clean, assists with maintaining the baler and conveyor line, and performs custodial duties as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to remain on your feet for most or all of the shift.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials.
- Sort recycled material onto different conveyor belts and move it to the appropriate areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the recycling area and outdoor yard.
- Help maintain equipment such as the baler and conveyor line.
- Perform custodial duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
