About The Position

Performs general ultrasound procedures at a professional and technical level without requiring constant supervision, using industry standards. Ensures that DNV standards and specialty recommendations are met for the Ultrasound department. Understands image transfer and viewing through the P.A.C.S. system and ordering through the R.I.S. (Radiology Information System) and EMR system. Has a clear understanding of Ultrasound call requirements. Coordinates care with radiologists or related physicians as needed. Maintains, cleans, and restocks each Ultrasound exam room after procedures. Transports patients as needed and maintains confidentiality of hospital matters, including HIPAA-protected information.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ultrasound procedures at a professional and technical level using industry standards.
• Ensure DNV standards and specialty recommendations are met for the Ultrasound department.
• Transfer and view images through the P.A.C.S. system.
• Use the R.I.S. and EMR systems to understand and process orders.
• Understand Ultrasound call requirements.
• Coordinate care with radiologists or related physicians as needed.
• Maintain, clean, and restock Ultrasound exam rooms after procedures.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of hospital matters, including HIPAA-protected information.
