About The Position

The Sonography Technologist performs routine and complex ultrasound studies to produce high-quality diagnostic images that support accurate, timely patient diagnoses. The role captures and documents clinical data in PACS, maintains imaging equipment through quality control and safety checks, and prioritizes patient well-being by recognizing relevant anatomy, pathologies, and technical limitations while adapting procedures to support patient comfort and image accuracy.

The position is based at Ascension Medical Group Clinic in Evansville, Indiana, in the Ultrasound department. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., with occasional weekend or holiday work and potential call coverage.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Obtain at least one of the following within 24 months of hire or job transfer: Cardiographic Tech credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); or Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• High school diploma or GED with two years of experience, an associate degree, or a technical certificate/degree.
• Able to work independently.

• Capture and document clinical data in PACS to maintain accurate records and support continuity of care.
• Conduct regular quality control and safety checks and optimize imaging equipment performance.
• Recognize significant anatomical structures, pathologies, and technical limitations, adapting the approach to support patient comfort and accurate imaging.
