About The Position

The Sonographer works under the general supervision of an attending radiologist and follows department protocols. The role uses high-frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that physicians use to make medical diagnoses and provide quality patient care. This is a registry/PRN position in Maywood, Illinois, with a minimum commitment of 10 shifts within a 90-day period and availability provided in advance.

Requirements

Associate degree and graduation from an accredited two-year ultrasound program, or equivalent training acquired through work experience.
AMA-approved Sonography program; graduate of a CAAHEP-approved school of Ultrasound Technology.
Less than one year of previous job-related experience.
New graduates must have nine months of ultrasound coursework experience, including clinical rotation.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
CPR certification from the American Heart Association only.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification with specialization in Abdomen, Ob/Gyn, or PS.
New graduates must obtain certification within three months of hire.
Commitment to a minimum of 10 shifts within a 90-day period and providing availability in advance.
Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.
