About The Position

Mt. Sinai Hospital is a fast-paced Level 1 Adult teaching hospital serving Chicago’s Westside neighborhoods. The In-House Registry Nursing Staff provides direct patient care in one of four telemetry or Medical/Surgical units. Units have patient capacities ranging from 28 to 44 patients. Registry nurses self-schedule and are required to work six 12- or 8-hour shifts, plus three weekend shifts, over a six-week period.

The nurse provides confidential, professional nursing care to inpatients. Patient care includes admission and discharge assessments, shift assessments, patient education, medication administration, and patient monitoring. The nurse collaborates with other disciplines to provide high-quality, timely care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Mt. Sinai Hospital offers services and expertise in cardiovascular care; women’s and infants’ care; cancer care; emergency services; medical imaging; orthopedics; plastic and reconstructive surgery; inpatient and outpatient psychiatry; rehabilitation through Schwab Rehab Hospital; and surgical care, including Level 1 trauma surgeons. On-site interpreters are available for deaf patients and speakers of other languages.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of RN experience.
• Valid Illinois RN license.

Nice To Haves

• Ventilator experience is a plus but is not required.
• Medical/Surgical and telemetry hospital experience.

Responsibilities
