Requirements

  • 3+ years of OB/GYN experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Registry eligible (must obtain ARDMS certification within the first year of employment)
  • Proficient in operating GE and Samsung ultrasound machines
  • Comfortable using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and OB/GYN clinical workflow
  • Ability to reflect and adjust to a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff
  • Current BLS certification preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Healthfusion EMR system is a plus
  • Experience with retroperitoneal studies preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality ultrasound imaging for gynecology and obstetrics patients, including first, second, and third trimester evaluations, while ensuring accurate image acquisition and interpretation.
  • Assist clinicians during ultrasound-guided procedures, providing real-time imaging support and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout.
  • Complete and submit ultrasound reports by the end of each shift for review by offsite radiologist, ensuring all documentation is entered clearly in the EMR, including notes to support continuity of care between shifts.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control protocols by disinfecting ultrasound probes using Trophon and sanitizing equipment and exam areas with approved cleaning agents.
  • Contribute to a smooth daily workflow by preparing patient files, retrieving and attaching OB reports, managing ultrasound volume based on shift expectations, and communicating effectively with team members and supervisors regarding patient care or technical issues.
