About The Position

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join their team. The company aims to challenge the status quo by highlighting radiology as a critical first step in diagnosis and treatment. The Sonographer will be responsible for operating assigned scanners to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies, taking a patient-centered approach, and providing sonography services within professional standards with excellent customer service. This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 4:30 PM. Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program, or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  • Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing
  • Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.)
  • Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in ACLS (Advance Cardiac Life Support)
  • OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Bilingual

Responsibilities

  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
  • Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
  • Performs routine and advanced Sonography imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
  • Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, to and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment, to promote good safety habits for patients and team members
  • Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  • Assist with the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
  • Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
