About The Position

The Sonographer 1-Echocardiography is a licensed sonographer working under the direct supervision of a credentialed staff Sonographer Echocardiography or Cardiologist. Performs designated direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate qualify patient-centered care. Prepares the patients, equipment, and supplies prior to exams. Performs the requested cardiac echocardiography examinations as prescribed in protocol. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports excellence in safe patient care and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited cardiac ultrasound program.
  • Able to read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality.
  • Use computer, printer, fax, software programs necessary to the position.
  • Troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Perform technical patient care activities.
  • Communicate in English, relate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in appropriate sub-specialty of department placement (adult echocardiology or pediatric echocardiology) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) credentialing board in appropriate sub-specialty of department placement (adult echocardiology or pediatric echocardiology) required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of direct echocardiography experience preferred.
