About The Position

This is an anticipated future opportunity for an Echocardiology Tech. The role involves performing diagnostic-quality echocardiograms using various imaging techniques and Doppler methods. The technician will identify normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy and function, conduct comprehensive cardiac assessments, and perform specialized echocardiography studies. Adapt imaging techniques and equipment settings to meet individual patient needs and obtain optimal diagnostic results. Independently analyze findings, document abnormalities, and communicate pertinent results to interpreting physicians. Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate imaging studies based on clinical presentation. Manage both outpatient and inpatient echocardiography workloads while ensuring timely, accurate examinations. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to optimize studies and ensure comprehensive evaluations. Explain procedures to patients, perform examinations, and adjust machine settings based on patient condition and clinical circumstances.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International for RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer and/or certification through ARDMS for Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer preferred.

  • Certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International for RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer and/or certification through ARDMS for Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic-quality echocardiograms using M-mode, 2D/3D imaging, spectral Doppler, and color flow Doppler techniques.
  • Identify normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy and function, recognizing a wide range of cardiovascular disease states.
  • Conduct comprehensive cardiac assessments to evaluate chamber size, valve function, septal defects, pericardial effusions, pressure gradients, and other cardiac abnormalities.
  • Perform contrast, bubble, and stress echocardiography studies and assist with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
  • Adapt imaging techniques and equipment settings to meet individual patient needs and obtain optimal diagnostic results.
