About The Position

The Internship Program is designed to provide a structured, hands-on experience that integrates meaningful work with intentional learning and development. Interns are embedded within a team to contribute to real business priorities while gaining exposure to organizational practices, tools, and cross functional collaboration. Throughout the program, interns will engage in project-based work aligned with team goals, participate in curated professional development sessions, and receive ongoing support through regular check-ins and feedback. The program is structured to ensure clarity in expectations, consistency in experience, and accountability in both performance and development. The program also includes phases and key touchpoints such as onboarding, orientation, midpoint feedback, and final presentations or deliverables. These components are designed to support intern engagement, reinforce learning, and provide opportunities for reflection and growth. SCOPE OF INTERNSHIP Reporting to the Managers of Workplace and Financial Services, the Solutions & Innovations Intern serves as a key member of the Solutions and Innovations team, supporting the team’s efforts while learning how the team and the organization function. The Solutions & Innovations Intern will contribute to the team's core mission of advancing financial health strategy and product development in financial services and workplace contexts through the design and execution of projects. The intern should be available to work 40 hours a week beginning June 1st through August 28th. EDUCATION Currently enrolled Undergraduate (current Sophomore or Junior) or Graduate Student seeking a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s, or Ph.D. Open to all academic disciplines. Relevant areas of study may include (but are not limited to) Finance, Business, Communications, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related fields. We value diverse perspectives and encourage candidates with a demonstrated interest in the internship to apply, regardless of major.

Requirements

  • Superior writing and oral communication skills
  • Basic research and synthesis skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders
  • A growth mindset, with the ability to learn quickly, adapt to new environments, and accept feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Apps. Experience using AI tools, including Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Financial services industry knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the enhancement and implementation of FHN's FinX program
  • Conducting research on emerging financial products and services; contributing to related writing projects (blog posts, briefs) as opportunities arise
  • Performing landscape analyses of fintech companies across direct-to-consumer, workplace, and B2B channels
  • Supporting landscape analysis and feasibility assessment activities for a new line of business.
  • Contributing to investment portfolio analysis for a strategic partner
  • Contributing to the improvement of internal systems and processes
  • Support the department team on the core functions
  • Collaborate with other teams as needed
  • Interact with FHN members and clients in the context of projects as needed
  • Assist with other projects as necessary.
