About The Position

A Senior Solutions Engineer is a highly skilled engineering professional with extensive hands-on project experience who leads the development of comprehensive solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing problems and serves as an authority in one or more project specialty areas. This role involves leading complex project development, influencing innovation, overseeing site installation and commissioning, and providing advanced backup support. The engineer will also be involved in front-end engineering, commercial support, defining system architecture, selecting platforms, creating designs, guiding risk assessments, and developing specifications. Quality assurance, including ensuring compliance with best practices, developing quality plans, and participating in design reviews, is also a key aspect. Furthermore, the role includes leadership and development responsibilities, such as serving as a Technical Lead, mentoring engineers, coaching project engineers, creating training content, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience leading control and information system design and development.
  • Extensive client consulting experience during solution architecture and implementation.
  • Advanced proficiency programming and commissioning complex multi-platform systems.
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing, automation, industrial controls, and information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of project leadership and quality management methods.
  • Experience supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of others.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing ecosystem concepts across ISA-95 levels 0-4.
  • Five or more years of relevant process-industry experience (for Batch specialty).
  • Hands-on experience with batch control and batch management software (for Batch specialty).
  • Working knowledge of ISA-88 and regulated or hazardous manufacturing environments, as applicable (for Batch specialty).
  • Experience interpreting P&IDs and applying process instrumentation and drive technologies (for Batch specialty).
  • Five or more years of relevant manufacturing systems experience (for Visualization, Industrial IT and Data specialty).
  • Advanced experience with HMI, SCADA, reporting, MES/MOM, industrial networks, servers, databases, or manufacturing software development (for Visualization, Industrial IT and Data specialty).
  • Working knowledge of ISA-95 and industrial cybersecurity practices (for Visualization, Industrial IT and Data specialty).
  • Five or more years of relevant control-system experience (for Design, and PLC specialty).
  • Advanced PLC, drive, motion, instrumentation, and industrial electrical design experience (for Design, and PLC specialty).
  • Working knowledge of applicable safety, power quality, circuit protection, SIL, and SIS concepts (for Design, and PLC specialty).
  • Strong leadership, communication, coordination, scheduling, negotiation, and decision-making.
  • Recognized ability to create practical innovation and lead change.
  • Independent judgment in analyzing and resolving complex technical problems.
  • Strong focus on priorities and efficient management of work across multiple projects.
  • Established subject matter expertise and ability to teach others.
  • Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
  • Travel as requested for commissioning, field service, and other site engineering activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex project development activities.
  • Influence innovation by recommending ideas and encouraging project-team creativity.
  • Lead or oversee site installation and commissioning efforts.
