About The Position

A Controls Solutions Sales Engineer is required for a customer-facing HVAC controls role focused on modernizing existing boiler control systems across the Greater New York City metro area. This position is particularly suited to someone with a strong BAS, DDC, HVAC controls, or applications engineering background who wants to move into technical sales without stepping away from engineering. You’ll work with existing customers to assess older control systems, identify upgrade opportunities, and translate technical improvements into clear operational value. Perfect opportunity for a BAS/Controls Engineer or Technician who enjoys the technical side of automation but wants to move beyond installation and commissioning into a customer-facing applications role, with the opportunity to influence projects and earn commission.

Requirements

• Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC controls, BAS, DDC systems, building automation, or a closely related controls environment.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and controls integration.
• Ability to interpret control sequences, system drawings, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and communicating technical solutions clearly.
• Experience as a Controls Sales Engineer, BAS Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Controls Applications Engineer, HVAC Controls Engineer, Building Automation Engineer, BAS Project Engineer, or similar technical controls professional.
• Ability to travel throughout the Greater New York City metro territory for customer meetings, site visits, and technical assessments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing boiler and HVAC control systems and identify opportunities for digital control modernization.
• Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and technical assessments across the territory.
• Understand customer requirements and develop appropriate technical control solutions.
• Explain how control upgrades can improve system efficiency, fuel consumption, boiler performance, reliability, and operational visibility.
• Support proposals and technical recommendations throughout the sales process.
• Build credibility with facility engineers, operators, and other stakeholders.
• Work alongside account managers and internal teams to develop opportunities within the existing customer base.
• Progress opportunities from initial identification through to project handoff.

• $85,000 - $90,000 base salary.
