About The Position

Kongsberg Geospatial is an industry-leading software company with over 30 years of experience delivering real-time geospatial technology solutions for Defence and Aerospace applications worldwide. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, our technology is trusted for critical applications such as air defense, search and rescue, drone delivery systems, and autonomous vehicle tracking. We are seeking a Solutions Engineering Manager to lead our growing Solutions Engineering team, manage people and solutions, and support the development of new business opportunities. This role involves acting as a technical advisor and solution advocate for the business development team, collaborating with the engineering team to convey customer requirements, and guiding solutions. This is a hybrid position based in our Ottawa, Ontario office, requiring up to 25% travel within and outside of Canada.

Requirements

  • A Canadian security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
  • A post-secondary degree in a field related to Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5 years of previous experience in software or sales leadership
  • 10 years of previous experience in any combination of software development, solutions/sales engineering and technical sales support
  • Solid knowledge of software development practices, methodologies, tools and technologies
  • Ability to provide direction to a range of technical and non-technical teams
  • Knowledge of the design, analysis, and integration of mission critical software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with geospatial display software and applications
  • Experience working in the Defense or Aerospace industry

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, strategy and management of the Solutions Engineering team, including resource planning, career development and recruiting
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of products and solutions, and their application in various domains
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development, Engineering, and external customers to facilitate the technical aspects of the business development process
  • Understand market and sales opportunities to drive future growth
  • Develop and maintain effective processes and practices to support the solutions and sales engineering aspects of the business development process
  • Ensure overall quality of customer interactions and solutions
  • Develop technical solutions and alternatives that meet customer requirements
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Participate in trade shows, demos, and product training
