About The Position

Engine is transforming business travel by creating a seamless platform that integrates corporate travel, a charge card, and modern spend management. We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to own the technical implementation layer between go-to-market teams and product development. This role is crucial for ensuring our platform integrates smoothly with customers' existing systems, such as HRIS, ERP, CRM, accounting, and data warehouses. You will be the primary technical point of contact for integration requests, responsible for setup, debugging, and enabling the field team to handle common integration queries. Your work will directly impact deal velocity, customer satisfaction, and the efficiency of our Product and Engineering teams by reducing escalations and building robust knowledge bases and enablement materials.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years in a Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Implementation Engineering role at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS integrations (UKG, Workday, BambooHR, Dayforce, or similar) and/or ERP/accounting connectors (NetSuite, Dynamics, Xero, Acumatica, or similar).
  • Comfort working directly with REST APIs, including reading documentation, writing test calls, and diagnosing sync failures independently.
  • Strong written communication skills for creating reusable guides and structured product briefs.
  • Experience working across Sales and Account Management teams, translating technical capabilities into actionable answers for the field.
  • Comfort using AI tools for documentation, diagnosis, and scaling enablement content.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with iPaaS platforms (Workato, Zapier, Boomi, or similar).
  • Background in travel technology, fintech, or SMB-focused SaaS.
  • Experience building or maintaining a sandbox/demo environment.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse integrations (Snowflake, BigQuery, S3).
  • Prior experience writing connector documentation or API one-pagers for a go-to-market audience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the integration request queue, acting as the first technical responder for HRIS, ERP/accounting, Reporting API, Open API, and iPaaS integrations.
  • Conduct setup and debugging calls, resolving issues or escalating with clear summaries to Product or Engineering.
  • Define and manage the intake process for integration requests, including triage templates and routing frameworks.
  • Track request volume by system type to inform roadmap prioritization.
  • Build and maintain an implementation knowledge base, including a connector compatibility matrix and per-connector one-pagers.
  • Create reusable setup guides and Looms for common integration scenarios.
  • Maintain a sandbox/demo environment for AMs to showcase integration capabilities.
  • Train IMs/AMs on qualifying integration feasibility and performing first-level setup for common connectors.
  • Develop quick-reference collateral for common integration objections.
  • Partner with Product Marketing on technical readiness for integration-related product launches.
  • Set and enforce a clear escalation bar to protect engineering time.
  • Surface repeat escalation patterns to Product with structured feedback, including volume, deal value, and customer impact.
  • Reduce integration-related Product and Engineering call time week-over-week.
