Solutions Engineer, Integrations

EngineChicago, IL
$95,370 - $132,000Hybrid

About The Position

Engine is seeking a Solutions Engineer, Integrations to own the technical implementation layer between go-to-market teams and the product. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless integration of Engine's platform with customer systems, including HRIS, ERP, CRM, accounting, and data warehouses. The Solutions Engineer will be the primary technical point of contact for integration requests, responsible for setup, debugging, and documentation. The goal is to reduce escalations to Product and Engineering, build knowledge bases, and enable the field team to handle integration queries more effectively. Engine is a rapidly growing fintech and travel platform backed by major investors, offering a hybrid-hub work model.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years in a Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Implementation Engineering role at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS integrations (UKG, Workday, BambooHR, Dayforce, or similar) and/or ERP/accounting connectors (NetSuite, Dynamics, Xero, Acumatica, or similar).
  • Comfort working directly with REST APIs — ability to read documentation, write a test call, and diagnose sync failures independently.
  • Strong written communication skills for creating reusable guides and structured product briefs.
  • Experience working across Sales and Account Management teams.
  • Comfort using AI tools to document, diagnose, and scale enablement content.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with iPaaS platforms (Workato, Zapier, Boomi, or similar).
  • Background in travel technology, fintech, or SMB-focused SaaS.
  • Experience building or maintaining a sandbox/demo environment.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse integrations (Snowflake, BigQuery, S3).
  • Prior experience writing connector documentation or API one-pagers for a go-to-market audience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the integration request queue, acting as the first technical responder for HRIS, ERP/accounting, Reporting API, Open API, and iPaaS integrations.
  • Run setup and debugging calls, resolving issues or escalating with clear summaries.
  • Own the intake process by defining a triage template and a routing framework by complexity tier.
  • Track request volume by system type to feed into roadmap prioritization.
  • Build and maintain the implementation knowledge base, including a connector compatibility matrix.
  • Write per-connector one-pagers for the most requested systems.
  • Record and create reusable Looms and setup guides from common setup and debugging calls.
  • Maintain a sandbox/demo environment for the field team.
  • Train IMs/AMs to qualify integration feasibility and run first-level setup for common connectors.
  • Build quick-reference collateral for common ERP, HRIS, and API objections.
  • Partner with Product Marketing on technical readiness for integration-related product launches.
  • Set and hold a clear escalation bar to protect engineering time.
  • Surface repeat escalation patterns to Product as structured feedback.
  • Reduce integration-related Product and Engineering call time week-over-week.
