Solutions Engineer II- API
About The Position
Partner with enterprise organizations to modernize API development and governance through SmartBear's API Lifecycle Management solutions. Lead technical discovery, demonstrations, proof of concepts, and customer workshops. Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success as a trusted technical advisor. Swagger is the industry-leading API Lifecycle Management solution built on the OpenAPI Specification, helping organizations design, document, govern, test, and manage APIs across the software development lifecycle. Partner with Sales throughout the technical sales cycle including discovery, demonstrations, proof of concepts, and evaluations. Consult with architects, developers, and engineering leaders on API strategies. Deliver compelling demonstrations showcasing Swagger's capabilities. Translate complex customer requirements into practical technical solutions. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success to share customer feedback. Develop reusable technical assets while expanding expertise in APIs, cloud technologies, and DevOps.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, Software Engineering, or another customer-facing technical role.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI Specification, API development, and modern software architecture.
- Experience delivering demonstrations and proof of concepts for enterprise customers.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD, cloud technologies, DevOps, or application integration.
- Strong communication, discovery, and consultative problem-solving skills.
- A passion for helping customers solve technical challenges while partnering across Sales, Product, and Engineering.
