About The Position

We create possibilities that move life and commerce forward Welcome to Manhattan. Every day, our supply chain commerce technology connects two billion people to 20 billion consumer choices. In the warehouse, on the road and in the store, we make what was once impossible, possible. If you want to tackle complex problems and redefine markets, you’ve come to the right place. The Solutions Engineer serves as the technical architect and anchor for Manhattan Associates’ Enterprise Mobility (EM) business, designing integrated solutions that bridge supply chain software with advanced hardware and managed services. Acting as a "bridge builder," this role scouts emerging technologies—such as RFID, robotics, and computer vision—to establish technical beachheads and determine their viability for global enterprise environments. You will be the primary technical authority throughout the sales lifecycle, ensuring that Manhattan offers modern, coherent, and supportable solution stacks that solve complex operational challenges. By aligning OEM roadmaps with software offerings and maintaining these technical "bridges" over time, the Solutions Engineer directly influences the team’s growth and defines the technical foundation for future revenue streams.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 7+ years of experience in enterprise technology, with a minimum of 3–5 years specifically in enterprise mobility, AIDC, or WMS-adjacent roles (OEM, VAR, or SI).
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of Android on rugged devices (Zebra, Honeywell, etc.) including device lifecycles, update mechanisms, and OEM-specific tools (e.g. MX).
  • MDM/EMM Proficiency: Hands-on experience designing profiles, policies, and application deployment patterns in SOTI MobiControl, Workspace ONE, or 42Gears.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid grasp of warehouse WLAN fundamentals (roaming, interference, coverage) and foundational skills in APIs and log analysis for system troubleshooting.
  • Consultative Communication: Proven ability to whiteboard complex architectures and translate technical requirements into business value for executive stakeholders.
  • Operational Context: Direct exposure to warehouse, logistics, or retail store operations and the environmental constraints of field deployments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

  • Discovery & Solution Hypothesizing: Lead discovery sessions with IT and warehouse leadership to translate operational pain points into solution hypotheses involving mobility, RFID, robotics, managed services, and other emerging technologies.
  • Technical Architecture Design: Own the end-to-end design for mobility components, including device/printer selection, MDM/EMM architecture, and the integration of managed service layers.
  • Demos & Proofs of Concept: Design and execute high-fidelity demos and PoCs in lab environments, showcasing hardware synergy (eg. scanning, RFID, voice) aligned with Manhattan software workflows.
  • OEM & Partner Engagement: Serve as the technical point of contact for key partners like Zebra and Honeywell, aligning their product roadmaps with Manhattan software solutions
  • Internal Enablement: Author "how to sell and how to deliver" playbooks, reference architectures, and training materials to empower Sales and Engineering teams on new EM offerings.
  • Emerging Tech Evaluation: Partner with leadership to evaluate and productize new edge technologies, including robotics (AMRs), computer vision, edge AI, and wearable computing platforms.
  • Proposal Engineering: Produce technical content for RFPs, RFIs, and SOWs, ensuring BoMs and designs are implementation-ready and balance total cost of ownership (TCO) with lifecycles.
