About The Position

NetApp is seeking an Enterprise Solutions Engineer (SE) to join our team in Toronto. This is a high-impact role at the center of NetApp’s most strategic customer relationships, where deep technical expertise, long-term account strategy, and trusted advisory partnerships drive meaningful business outcomes. As an Enterprise Solutions Engineer, you will serve as the dedicated technical seller alongside our Client Executives, owning the technical strategy across a defined set of named accounts and regional partners. You’ll build deep relationships with customer technical teams and decision-makers, lead complex solution design across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, and play a central role in both landing new logos and strategically expanding NetApp’s presence within existing accounts. This role requires someone who thrives in a strategic, relationship-driven sales motion, someone who can operate as a true partner to their sales counterparts, navigate complex enterprise environments, and bring a consultative approach to helping customers transform their data infrastructure with modern technologies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or systems engineering role supporting enterprise customers in complex, strategic sales environments.
  • Strong experience with IT infrastructure technologies, ideally including storage, data management, hybrid cloud, or data center infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to operate as a dedicated technical seller within a strategic account model, partnering closely with sales to drive both new business and install-base expansion.
  • Experience building and maintaining deep, long-term relationships with customer technical teams, architects, and IT leadership within enterprise accounts.
  • Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value and align solutions to customer priorities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and demonstration skills with the ability to engage both technical practitioners and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with enterprise customer environments including data centers, virtualization, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure architectures.
  • A strategic, consultative mindset with a passion for solving complex customer challenges and helping organizations modernize their data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource aligned to Client Executives, jointly owning account strategy, pipeline development, and technical win strategy across your shared book of business.
  • Work within named enterprise accounts to identify expansion opportunities, deepen NetApp’s footprint across the install base, and position new solutions that align to evolving customer needs and business priorities.
  • Partner with your aligned sales team to pursue and win new business within the territory, bringing technical credibility and solution expertise to competitive opportunities.
  • Build lasting relationships with customer architects, IT leadership, and key decision-makers by providing strategic guidance on modern data infrastructure, hybrid cloud architectures, and data management strategy.
  • Architect and position NetApp solutions across hybrid cloud, on-prem infrastructure, and data management platforms, tailoring recommendations to the specific technical and business requirements of each account.
  • Lead technical discovery conversations, solution presentations, demonstrations, proof-of-concept engagements, and architectural workshops throughout the sales cycle.
  • Work closely with NetApp’s regional reseller and partner ecosystem to enable joint customer engagements and support partner-led opportunities within the territory.
  • Engage Solutions Architects and specialized technical resources on highly complex or multi-workload opportunities, coordinating the right internal support to drive successful outcomes.
  • Develop deep knowledge of your accounts’ environments, business priorities, and long-term technology roadmaps, positioning yourself as an indispensable strategic resource.
