About The Position

Airbnb is seeking a Solutions Designer for their Diversity and Belonging (D&B) team. This role is part of a Center of Excellence (COE) focused on building scalable systems and integrating inclusion expertise into People team workstreams and across the employee experience. The Solutions Designer will create solutions that are in high demand because they solve real problems effectively, with success measured by adoption rates and impact. This position offers significant leadership exposure within the People organization and the business, with a focus on data-informed and AI-assisted methodologies.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in D&B, HR strategy, organizational effectiveness, or related people work.
  • Demonstrated track record of building systems, frameworks, and leading complex cross-functional programs.
  • Deep equity expertise, including diagnosing systemic root causes, analyzing disaggregated data, and designing interventions at the process or structure level.
  • Experience producing scalable solutions that were adopted and used by others without ongoing involvement.
  • Experience contributing to and influencing cross-functional People team initiatives where you did not own the primary workstream.
  • Data fluency: ability to set baselines, define metrics, build dashboards, and measure outcomes.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and curiosity about their application to D&B work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously on complex, ambiguous projects and deliver results.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing blueprints and toolkits that are immediately usable by Talent Partners and leaders without D&B needing to co-own the execution.
  • Experience contributing to select Employee Experience (EX) team priorities.
  • Experience driving recurring D&B owned annual programs.
  • Experience with AI tools and technology to scale reach.

Responsibilities

  • Own 1-2 D&B workstreams as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI), including scoping, producing deliverables, managing timelines, and reporting outcomes.
  • Translate D&B insights into business language, connecting equity data to employee experience metrics, retention, and business performance.
  • Produce blueprints and toolkits that are immediately usable by Talent Partners and leaders without ongoing D&B support.
  • Apply systems thinking to root cause analysis of equity gaps.
  • Build measurement into all projects, defining baseline metrics, success criteria, and tracking indicators.
  • Leverage AI and technology to scale reach and improve consistency, reduce bias, or expand reach.
  • Drive adoption and ownership transfer of solutions, designing intake, communication, and rollout strategies.
  • Lead with a global lens, ensuring solutions are applicable across Airbnb's international footprint.
  • Stay current on the field of D&B, bringing in new practices and understanding peer company benchmarks.
