Solutions Configuration Analyst

eClerx•Austin, TX

About The Position

The Solutions Configuration Analyst designs, configures, and validates enterprise product solutions and the SKU-level bills of materials (BOMs) behind them for end customers. The role begins with learning each client’s environment—including procurement systems, product catalogs, CPQ/ERP stack, and technical standards—to ensure configurations are compatible, compliant, and orderable the first time. The analyst discovers client requirements, builds and validates solutions and multi-level BOMs, maintains configurations in CPQ and ERP tools, and manages changes through the order lifecycle. The role also performs pre-quote quality checks, collaborates with sales, solution architects, supply chain, and vendor/OEM teams, and documents configuration decisions and audit trails. This is a six-month fixed-term employee position with possible extension and benefits, located in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in solutions configuration, sales engineering support, technical pre-sales, or product/configuration data for enterprise products.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise IT product families such as compute, storage, networking, and software licensing, or an equivalent enterprise product domain.
  • Hands-on experience with CPQ and/or ERP systems, such as Salesforce CPQ, SAP, Oracle, or vendor quoting tools.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures, SKU hierarchies, and bundling/attach logic.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn client systems and environments quickly and document them clearly.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with bulk-load and integration formats.

Nice To Haves

  • SQL or scripting experience for validation and automation.
  • Experience supporting enterprise accounts with contract-specific catalogs.
  • Consulting or managed-services delivery background.

Responsibilities

  • Understand client systems, including CPQ, ERP, procurement portals, catalogs, pricing structures, and contract or agreement terms.
  • Capture technical requirements such as performance, capacity, compatibility, security, regional, and compliance constraints.
  • Produce a client profile and configuration requirements document before build begins.
  • Translate requirements into validated configurations covering base systems, options, components, software and licensing, support, and services SKUs.
  • Build multi-level BOMs and bundles with correct attach rules, dependencies, and exclusions.
  • Validate compatibility, firmware and software interoperability, and end-of-life/end-of-support status.
  • Align configurations to contract pricing, customer-specific SKUs, and regional availability.
  • Configure and maintain solutions in CPQ and ERP tools; load and reconcile BOM data in client-specific formats.
  • Maintain configuration rules, templates, and reusable reference builds.
  • Manage change requests, revisions, and substitutions through the order lifecycle.
  • Run pre-quote validation to identify invalid, incomplete, or non-orderable configurations.
