About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Configuration Analyst to support the NSWC Crane Hypersonic Systems Engineering Team. The role assists with developing and implementing configuration management (CM) processes, authoring documentation and policy, and applying CM best practices for a hypersonic developmental program transitioning configuration responsibility from the Lead Systems Integrator to the Government. The position supports CM strategy in a rapid development environment, including processes for the CPS Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) test environment, and helps prepare the program for weapon-system sustainment requirements. It also supports technical and data-driven solutions and evaluates and recommends engineering, CM, and Data Management tools. The analyst applies CM practices to evolving technical program baselines and ensures configuration items are correct, complete, and consistent with technical and programmatic requirements. The role involves significant interaction with Government National Team stakeholders, including government organizations, prime contractors, and national laboratories, as well as cross-functional working groups in systems engineering, hardware and software engineering, and logistics. The position tracks system development, product design changes, and their effects on the overall system. Responsibilities include configuration identification; preparing and processing changes and documentation; facilitating change review boards; helping structure and maintain databases; generating configuration status reports and configuration verification audit records; conducting Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs); establishing and maintaining Functional, Allocated, and Product baselines for assigned systems and subsystems; and coordinating with logistics, engineering, and program management teams so changes are reflected in technical data packages. The role requires regular access to classified information. It may be staffed onsite at Crane, Indiana, or remotely in Washington, DC, or Huntsville, Alabama; the posting also states the position must be filled in Crane, Huntsville, or Washington, DC. A hybrid schedule with some telework is permitted when the employee is not needed at the customer site.
