About The Position

Reporting to the Director of File Based Solutions, the Solutions Architect works across Evertz clients, account managers, R&D engineers, project managers, and executive management to architect, design, and document requirements and implementation approaches for end-to-end enterprise solutions in broadcast and media facilities. The role involves capturing client visions and business and technical requirements, then mapping them to Evertz hardware, software, and professional services. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with clients and with internal R&D and delivery service groups.

The Solutions Architect contributes throughout the solution lifecycle, from defining scope and developing initial designs and proposals through commissioning, training, and sustaining engineering. The role also includes identifying and managing project risks, producing design and bid documentation, developing customer relationships, and traveling to client sites as required.

Requirements

• Experience designing, documenting, and sustaining full life-cycle, end-to-end, enterprise-wide client-facing projects.
• Experience with file-based broadcast, production, post-production, non-linear distribution, automated transcoding and quality control, and business/traffic systems deployments and workflows.
• Education in electronics engineering or a similar field.
• Problem-solving and strong communication skills.
• Results-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player.
• Familiarity with BXF and industry-standard traffic solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience deploying file-based workflow solutions.
• Experience with Broadcast IT and network infrastructure.
• Understanding of application integration with business systems using XML as the interchange format.
• Knowledge of current digital video compression standards and file types.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with account managers to define and document project scope.
• Provide initial solutions to clients, including Evertz equipment selection and systems design, and refine these into final quotations and supporting documentation.
• Work with internal resources and clients to provide demonstrations and/or documentation for proof-of-concept systems as required.
• Collaborate with internal, client, and third-party teams to understand current and future business and technical requirements.
• Lead proposal creation and refinement, and take ownership of accurate bid-set documentation.
• Identify and manage project risks, clearly state assumptions, and work with clients and internal resources to mitigate risks before deployment.
• Create design packages, gap analyses, functional specifications, and budgets.
• Identify new customers and build relationships while maintaining the existing customer base.
• Act as the technical authority throughout design, pre-commissioning, onsite commissioning, training, and sustaining engineering.
• Travel to client sites as required.
