About The Position

The Solutions Architect reports to the Director of File Based Solutions and works with Evertz clients, account managers, R&D engineers, project managers, and executive management. The role architects, designs, and documents requirements and implementation approaches for end-to-end enterprise solutions for broadcast and media facilities. The successful candidate captures clients’ business and technical requirements and maps them to Evertz hardware, software, and professional services. The position involves both client-facing and internal collaboration with R&D and delivery service groups.

The role leads solution design and proposal development, produces accurate bid documentation, manages project risks and assumptions, and creates design packages, gap analyses, functional specifications, and budgets. The Solutions Architect serves as the technical authority through design, pre-commissioning, onsite commissioning, training, and sustaining engineering, and travels to client sites as required.

Requirements

• Experience designing, documenting, and sustaining full-life-cycle, end-to-end enterprise client-facing projects.
• Experience with file-based broadcast, production, post-production, nonlinear distribution, automated transcoding and quality control, and business or traffic systems deployments and workflows.
• Education in electronics engineering or a similar field.
• Problem-solving ability and strong communication skills.
• Results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work as a team player.
• Familiarity with BXF and industry-standard traffic solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience deploying file-based workflow solutions.
• Experience with Broadcast IT and network infrastructure.
• Understanding of application integration with business systems using XML as the interchange format.
• Knowledge of current digital video compression standards and file types.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the account manager to define and document project scope.
• Provide initial client solutions through Evertz equipment selection and systems design, refining these into final quotations and supporting documentation.
• Work with internal resources and clients to provide demonstrations or proof-of-concept system documentation as required.
• Collaborate with internal, client, and third-party teams to understand current and future business and technical requirements.
• Lead proposal creation and refinement, and take ownership of accurate bid-set documentation.
• Identify and manage project risks, clearly state assumptions, and coordinate mitigation with clients and internal resources before deployment.
• Create design packages, gap analyses, functional specifications, and budgets.
• Identify new customers, build relationships, and maintain the existing customer base.
• Act as the technical authority through design, pre-commissioning, onsite commissioning, training, and sustaining engineering phases.
• Travel to client sites as required.
