About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Storage Solutions Architect to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Amazon FSx for Lustre. This role involves working closely with service teams to drive innovation and adoption, while also supporting field teams and strategic customers in HPC and GenAI use cases. The ideal candidate will be adept at both deep technical dives with engineering teams and explaining complex architectures to decision-makers. You will collaborate with AWS storage service teams to influence roadmaps, document best practices, and promote feature adoption through technical content and presentations at industry events. Candidates should possess expertise in enterprise storage technologies, with a strong focus on cloud-based file and data storage solutions. Previous AWS experience is preferred. You will work alongside senior engineers and other storage specialists to design comprehensive solutions for customer workloads. In this capacity, you will partner with Storage Product and GTM teams to enable key technical use cases and drive service adoption. Through thought leadership, you will establish best practices, suggest service enhancements, and develop technical content to facilitate the successful implementation of AWS storage solutions. This position blends service expertise with strategic customer engagement, requiring approximately 25% travel for speaking engagements and technical events.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 6+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities
  • Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering)
  • Previous experience with AWS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical specialist for FSx Lustre, working closely with the service team to drive feature adoption and customer success
  • Partner with FSx Lustre GTM/Product teams to develop and execute technical strategies that drive service growth
  • Provide architectural guidance to customers implementing high-performance computing (HPC) and machine learning workloads using FSx Lustre
  • Create technical content, deliver workshops, and speak at events to educate customers on FSx Lustre best practices
  • Capture and advocate for customer feedback to influence the FSx Lustre roadmap
  • Collaborate with field SA teams to support complex customer opportunities and technical challenges
  • Mentor other SAs on FSx Lustre architecture patterns and use cases
