About The Position

Our Professional Services team at Ellucian is seeking a Solutions Architect II who will play a key role in shaping the vision and architecture of our solutions across multiple Ellucian products. This role focuses on designing, supporting, and implementing best practice solutions throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and business requirements. The Solutions Architect collaborates closely with delivery teams, leads Cloud/SaaS modernization engagements, and drives outcomes-based methodology practices to accelerate time-to-value for Canadian higher education institutions. Reporting directly to the manager of the practice, the Solutions Architect serves as a trusted advisor and principal liaison, ensuring the successful execution and adoption of solutions as architected.

Requirements

  • Must live in Canada
  • Preferred 5+ years of broad solution delivery experience at multiple Canadian higher education institutions, with expertise in cross-functional areas such as Student Information Systems (SIS), Finance, and HR.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian post-secondary education landscape, including governance, funding, and operational models.
  • Technical Background: Comfortable with and experienced in technical implementation, with the ability to architect across multiple functional and technical areas.
  • Preferred experience with large-scale ERP platforms in higher education.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian ERP delivery practices and understanding of its role within the broader Ellucian solution landscape.
  • Passionate about learning and applying new tools and technologies in service of student and institutional success.
  • Innovation and Creativity: A proactive, team-oriented professional with the ability to adapt and evolve delivery methodologies to meet the needs of diverse institutions.
  • Strong customer-facing experience across institutions or delivery projects.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with a focus on teamwork, clarity, and follow-through.
  • Ability to articulate value and ROI for institutions around a variety of software and services solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze institutional objectives and desired outcomes, ensuring alignment with customer goals.
  • Design and convey comprehensive business architecture, including both technical and functional solutions, from concept through implementation.
  • Identify and standardize solutions within the Ellucian ecosystem, ensuring alignment with best practices and the product roadmap.
  • Support solution definition and value articulation in collaboration with senior architecture and delivery leads.
  • Lead cross-functional implementations, focusing on areas like Student Information Systems (SIS), Finance, HR, and ensuring SaaS extensibility is maximized for customer success.
  • Facilitate solutioning sessions, guide capability teams through process mapping, and enhance institutional outcomes through standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project management to define and execute delivery models, mitigate risks, and develop materials such as solution architectures and statements of work.
  • Participate in governance and assurance activities, ensuring solutions are implemented as designed and evaluating ongoing success for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor new team members on capability-driven service delivery practices, balancing strategic and tactical considerations.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Ellucian’s global architecture repository, supporting time-to-value and outcome-driven methodologies.
