About The Position

The Systems Solutions Architect II contributes to the design, integration, and deployment of complex technical systems at the intersection of systems engineering and hardware and software integration. This role translates requirements into architecture elements and integration plans while supporting system architecture development and owning defined subsystems or integration activities, ensuring alignment with system requirements, performance objectives, and cross-functional engineering efforts in fast-paced technical environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, or related technical leadership roles
  • Working knowledge of systems architecture and integration across hardware and software domains
  • Ability to translate requirements into system concepts and integration approaches
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
  • Ability to coordinate work across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Clear written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and evolving technical environments

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree
  • Experience supporting architecture development for defense, aerospace, robotics, autonomy, or AI-enabled systems
  • Experience with system integration, subsystem testing, or hardware/software interface definition
  • Exposure to embedded systems, sensors, robotics, or machine learning systems
  • Familiarity with DoD programs, structured development processes, or system lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of subsystem-level technical responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of end-to-end system architectures and technical solution concepts, translating mission needs and operational requirements into technical architectures under senior architect guidance
  • Define and coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, software, firmware, and AI components; support cross-functional integration planning
  • Take ownership of defined subsystems or architecture elements, ensuring alignment with system requirements, integration plans, and performance objectives
  • Lead or support subsystem integration and system-level testing activities, validating that implementations meet performance, reliability, and operational requirements
  • Identify system-level risks and integration challenges early; contribute to risk mitigation planning, troubleshooting, and corrective action
  • Participate in rapid-response engineering efforts to diagnose and resolve technical issues during integration and testing, including structured root cause analysis
  • Maintain architecture documentation, interface definitions, and technical decision records to ensure configuration discipline and traceability
  • Contribute to technical proposal content, architecture concepts, and solution development for new programs and internal initiatives
  • Collaborate across systems, software, electrical, mechanical, and AI teams, communicating technical concepts clearly to engineers and program leadership
