About The Position

This position is responsible for defining future-state architecture, technology standards, governance practices, and strategic roadmaps for Digital Workplace Technology service areas. This role provides technical leadership across endpoint management, digital employee experience, device lifecycle management, software delivery, automation, workplace security technologies, and enterprise workplace modernization. The role serves as a strategic technical leader, driving modernization efforts, architecture governance, technology innovation, and alignment while ensuring solutions remain secure, scalable, resilient, supportable, and aligned with Southern Company business objectives.

Requirements

Expert-level experience with Intune, MECM, Microsoft 365, Windows management, and related endpoint technologies in enterprise-scale environments.
Knowledgeable in current and emerging relevant industry related products and trends.
Advanced experience developing strategic technology roadmaps, future-state architecture plans, reference architectures, design standards, engineering patterns, governance frameworks, and technology blueprints.
Advanced experience with Digital Employee Experience platforms, automation technologies, endpoint analytics, predictive remediation, self-healing capabilities, and AI-enabled operations solutions.
Strong understanding of vulnerability management, security compliance, endpoint security, zero-trust security principles, resiliency planning, and technology lifecycle management.
Demonstrated ability to influence strategic technical decisions, lead architecture governance activities, facilitate design reviews, and provide risk-based recommendations for high-visibility initiatives.
Programming and scripting skills, preferably with PowerShell, APIs, WMI, and orchestration platforms, to automate remediation, configuration management, reporting, and operational recovery.
Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex enterprise technology issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts, risks, decisions, and roadmaps to non-technical, technical, and executive audiences.
Works effectively in a team environment, including geographically dispersed technical, security, infrastructure, vendor, architecture, and business teams.
High degree of focus on quality, reliability, efficiency, risk reduction, governance, strategic alignment, and measurable business and operational outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required.
10+ years of Information Technology experience, including 5+ years of technical leadership, enterprise solution design, architecture planning, or strategic technology planning experience.

Defines and maintains the Digital Workplace Technologies architecture vision, technology standards, governance model, and multi-year strategic roadmap.
Designs and guides secure, scalable workplace technology solutions across endpoint management, device lifecycle, software delivery, automation, digital employee experience platforms, vulnerability management, and workplace security technologies.
Partners with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Engineering, Support, vendors, and business stakeholders to design secure, scalable, resilient, and supportable workplace technology solutions.
Leads workplace modernization and transformation efforts involving cloud-first endpoint management, AI-enabled operations, workforce analytics, predictive remediation, automation, and self-healing technologies.
Evaluates emerging technologies and develops strategic adoption plans that improve employee productivity, operational efficiency, security posture, and user experience.
Provides technical leadership, consultative guidance, architecture recommendations, risk input, and roadmap direction for complex workplace technology initiatives, escalations, and cross-functional projects.
Develops, governs, and maintains strategic architecture roadmaps for endpoint management, digital employee experience, software delivery, automation, vulnerability management, and workplace security platforms.
Creates and governs reference architectures, design standards, engineering patterns, technology blueprints, architecture principles, and reusable solution frameworks.
Defines future-state architecture strategies supporting cloud-first endpoint management, digital workplace modernization, automation, employee experience improvement, and secure technology adoption.
Leads architecture reviews and solution design approvals for major projects impacting Digital Workplace Technologies.
Ensures solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity requirements, operational support models, resiliency expectations, and lifecycle governance practices.
Identifies, assesses, and manages technical debt, platform rationalization opportunities, modernization initiatives, architectural risks, and strategic investment needs.
Leads initiatives involving AI-enabled operations, workforce analytics, predictive remediation, automation, self-healing technologies, cloud management, and autonomous endpoint management capabilities.
Evaluates emerging technologies and develops strategic recommendations supporting business objectives, operational excellence, security improvement, employee productivity, and user experience.
Leads proof-of-concept activities, technology assessments, vendor evaluations, architecture comparisons, adoption strategies, and implementation recommendations.
Provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, analysts, project teams, and technical stakeholders; collaborates with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Application, vendor, and business teams; establishes platform health indicators and metrics used to measure reliability, security, performance, lifecycle readiness, and employee experience outcomes.
Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Application teams to ensure alignment across technology domains.
Engage vendors for POC/POV as needed to determine the applicability of emerging technologies within the Southern Enterprise.
Develops capacity, performance, resiliency, and lifecycle strategies for workplace technology platforms.
Establishes architecture metrics and health indicators used to measure platform effectiveness and employee experience outcomes.
