About The Position

The Solutions Architect (SA) is a subject matter expert (SME) and technology thought leader who contributes their deep knowledge of process and technology to the core team for Rollouts & Named Accounts engagement. The SA provides direction and advice through the project life cycle from sales concept to design development, construction drawings to implementation support. As the technical thought leader on a project team, the SA is instrumental in the determination and execution of client and system requirements and will collaborate with SMEs and project teams as required. The SA is also responsible for mentoring other members of the design engineering staff. Reporting Director – Rollouts & Named Accounts, the SA’s project assignments are determined by Engineering Leadership based on enterprise-wide demands. This role is a mix between non-billable in a pre-sales capacity and billable in a post-sales capacity. There are times when the SA will work on presales estimation and design efforts. As the technical thought leader on a project, the SA is responsible for vetting products and making detailed equipment recommendations. The SA has the authority to recommend changes in scope as well as programming and commissioning activities to enhance project success. The SA is also responsible for reviewing drawing packages produced by project teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office 365
  • 15+ years’ experience in Digital Signage/Experiential and Workplace Conference Solutions
  • Deep experience in designing and architecting enterprise digital signage, experiential technology, and workplace collaboration solutions across corporate, higher education, retail, sports/entertainment, healthcare, or other complex environments
  • Proven background leading solution strategy for large-scale AV/IT programs, including conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, briefing centers, lobbies, experience centers, digital signage networks, video walls, and immersive environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of workplace conference solutions, including UC platforms, room standards, audio DSP, microphones, cameras, control systems, AV-over-IP, BYOD/BYOM, room scheduling, monitoring, and enterprise device management.
  • Strong pre-sales experience supporting account teams, responding to RFPs/RFQs, developing solution strategies, and presenting technical recommendations to clients.
  • Comfortable serving as a technical advisor and escalation point during pursuit, design, and transition-to-delivery phases.
  • Experience architecting digital signage and digital experience ecosystems, including CMS platforms, media players, commercial displays, dvLED, video walls, content workflows, network requirements, and monitoring strategies.
  • Understanding of immersive and experiential technology environments, including interactive displays, projection systems, media servers, show control, spatial audio, sensors, content synchronization, and architectural integration.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP routing, ACL’s, QoS, VLAN’s and Wireless Access Points; network certifications preferred
  • Proven ability to lead high profile client interactions, affecting high level financial & technical decisions as well as the ability to translate client business goals, operational needs, and user experience requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage the expectations of each project team; with the ability to delegate conceptual information to those project teams for execution.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing complex workplace conference engineering projects.
  • A clear understanding of project phases; Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction and Commissioning.
  • A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation, and integration as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Detailed oriented, independent, self-starter
  • Exceptional time management skills with a track record for meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and communicate concise succinct messages
  • High level of problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to complex engagements and works directly with clients and project teams to develop basis of design, budgets, timelines, and manage expectations.
  • Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the base building tasks performed by others, and planning of audio, video, and control solutions.
  • Monitor development of projects the Bills of Materials (BOM) and supporting documentation.
  • Develop detailed design documentation strategy based on established engineering standard practices. Track engineering team tasks to completion.
  • Generate functional system descriptions, workflow narratives, and accompanying sketches.
  • Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients and projects.
  • Contribute technical expertise for the creation and later reconciliation of the complete construction drawing package, support documentation for installation and coordination with architect and other trades.
  • Monitor project testing, commissioning, and configuration activities during project deployment.
  • Support projects and teams in build phase.
  • Provide regular project engineering milestone status updates to Technical Operations resource planning.
  • Maintain expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars, and educational forums.
