About the position
The Solutions Architect role at Voltron Data involves working closely with Fortune 200 companies to support their data transformation journey. The main responsibilities include designing, implementing, and operationalizing Voltron Data solutions for customers and partners. The role requires ownership of deliverables and collaboration with product, engineering, and sales teams. Voltron Data is a Series A, venture-backed startup focused on building a new foundation for data analytics with Apache Arrow. The desired location for this role is the United States, and the salary range is between $195,000 to $240,000.
Responsibilities
- Work hands-on with Fortune 200 companies on their data transformation journey
- Design, implement, and operationalize Voltron Data solutions for customers and partners
- Own deliverables and collaborate with product, engineering, and sales teams
- Assemble a global team to build a new foundation for data analytics with Apache Arrow
- Drive open source ecosystems in C++, Python, and R programming ecosystems
- Create a representative, equitable, and respectful workplace that prioritizes employee growth
- Have 7+ years of experience in field engineering (pre and post sales)
- Have experience with Apache Arrow, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, SQL, NoSQL, Dask, Pandas, Cloud Storage (S3, ADLS, GCS)
- Have experience with OSS (Open Source Software)
- Have experience with distributed systems and HPC environments; Kubernetes and Slurm experience a plus
- Have experience designing solutions on cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Have experience migrating or redefining legacy customer workloads to modern analytical pipelines
- Have high standards in their own work and in their peers
