About The Position

Ultimus is investing in AI to transform fund administration through generative AI assistants, intelligent document processing, machine learning, and agentic AI workflows. The AI Infrastructure team builds and operates the secure, shared platform that supports AI solutions across the firm. The Solution Architect owns the technical design of the enterprise AI platform, translating the target architecture into a buildable plan, making key design decisions, and ensuring workflow teams use a consistent shared foundation. The role helps shape the platform and practices that other teams will build on.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end architecture of the enterprise AI platform on Azure, including the AI gateway and model routing, AI and machine learning services, agent orchestration, memory and retrieval, data integration, guardrails, security, evaluation, and observability.
• Define the minimum platform required to begin building the first workflows and develop a roadmap for later capabilities, including a semantic layer, centralized orchestration, and an evaluation framework.
• Set standards for workflow teams, including AI solution and agent onboarding, autonomy and human review by workflow, tenancy and data isolation, and model and agent evaluation.
• Design integrations with core fund administration systems, the Snowflake data platform, MCP servers, document stores, and third-party APIs.
• Partner with security, compliance, and risk teams to ensure the platform meets regulatory, data-protection, and audit requirements.
• Review designs from AI Development pods and make build-versus-buy and vendor recommendations.
• Work with external partners during the initial build and ensure knowledge is transferred to the Ultimus team.
