About The Position

Waséyabek Federal Services, LLC (WFS) is seeking a Designer to prepare mechanical designs and drawings onsite at Fermilab under limited supervision. The position supports APS-TD projects, including PIP-II, LCLS-II, LCLS-II HE, Accelerator Support, LHC AUP, SRF, and SC Magnets.

The Designer will use NX1980 and Teamcenter, applying the ASME Y14.5-M-1994 or higher GD&T standard and following design and drafting procedures. The work includes collaborating directly with engineering staff to research and analyze design solutions, coordinate design development, and specify and select design components and materials while meeting project schedules and other requirements. The work is onsite at Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois, with the possibility of remote work. The schedule is an 8-hour shift between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CST.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Designer.
• Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in SolidWorks/NX through an interview conducted via the Zoom meeting portal.
• Ability to deliver quality work products for deadline-driven projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design tolerance and stack-up calculations, layout designs, detailed designs, advanced-level 3D models, and 2D drawings required for projects.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings in NX1980 and manage them in Teamcenter; Fermilab will direct the quantity for each task.
• Work with engineering staff to research and analyze design solutions, coordinate design development, and specify and select design components and materials.
• Follow design and drafting procedures and meet project schedules and other requirements.
