About The Position

As a Civil Engineering Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., in our Pittsburgh office, you’ll manage civil and environmental engineering projects primarily associated with solid waste facilities. You’ll manage project teams to complete engineering tasks such as airspace and earthwork volume calculations, prepare and review technical reports, design stormwater management systems, leachate collection systems, and landfill gas collection systems, perform geotechnical analyses, as well as prepare landfill grading plans and project details and specifications. You will be responsible for the management of Construction Quality Assurance projects including landfill cell liner/leachate collection systems, gas collection systems, cap construction, and environmental monitoring of landfill facilities. You’ll be directly responsible for developing proposals, project budgets, and schedules, managing the engineering staff, and performing quality control. While interacting with clients, contractors, and local/state government officials, you’ll impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction. In addition, you will partner with our management teams to mentor and assist in the professional development of the staff, including the performance of annual reviews and the establishment of development goals. Concurrently, our senior management teams will work with you to customize your individual career path through a variety of professional development and mentoring activities related to your project management, leadership, and business development skills. At CEC, our employees enjoy a flexible/hybrid work schedule, with hybrid options. Our comprehensive benefits package includes bonus recognition, based on performance, as well as participation in our employee stock ownership program. Additionally, we conduct mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews and provide goal-setting opportunities. Endless perks are available to employees at CEC! Our office boasts a full-scale gym, café serving breakfast and lunch, and recreation rooms—creating the perfect balance of wellness and productivity. Throughout the year, employees enjoy ping pong, pool, cornhole, and pickleball tournaments as well as the annual summer picnic, themed happy hours, and fun team building activities including go-kart racing and curling! We also understand the importance of reaching beyond the office and giving back to the community—CEC employees volunteer for trail workdays to enhance local parks, maintain a CEC-designed pollinator garden for our office campus, and organize an annual charity golf tournament.
