About The Position

The AES Operations team is looking for a Solar Technician II. This position will cover assigned O&M activities associated with the solar PV sites and substations associated with the utility-scale Solar Energy Plants (Morris Solarworks project) located in Missouri. This individual would play a pivotal role in ensuring that AES CE operates the portfolio to standards that exceed industry best-practice. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and have the ability to build, train and lead other field personnel. Requirements

• Experience with electrical/construction projects and basic IT equipment.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and ability to follow and improve safety standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a diverse organization.
• Problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
• Technical proficiency with standard business software.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications (preferred).
• 3+ years as a PV O&M solar technician.
• 5+ years in a power plant, with 1+ year in PV Solar O&M or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and operations for solar PV sites and substations.
• Handle corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance.
• Work with equipment like SunGrow 4400, SunGrow 3600, SoltecTrackers high/medium/low voltage switching.
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
• Work independently or in teams.
