About The Position

D3 is building a purpose-built blockchain for DomainFi, bringing domain tokenization and DeFi to the real-world domain-name asset class. The company is based in Los Angeles and has team members around the world.

The Senior Solana Blockchain Engineer will design and implement the DOMA Protocol, connecting traditional DNS and Web3 naming technologies into a unified naming system compatible across the Internet and blockchains. The role includes developing and maintaining core platform APIs and integrating smart contracts with Solana. The engineer will research, build, deploy, and monitor protocol features that enable domain tokenization and DomainFi applications, including tokenization, name resolution, secondary trading, and lending and borrowing. The role also involves backend services that interface with Solana and DNS registry and registrar infrastructure, while ensuring protocol and application security, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

• Strong interest in blockchain technologies and protocols.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Solana, including smart contract development and deployment, blockchain bridges, oracles, indexers, decentralized finance, and NFT marketplaces.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional backend development experience using Node.js and MySQL or Postgres.
• At least 3 years of blockchain development experience using Solidity or Rust, with a strong understanding of distributed systems, consensus algorithms, and storage subsystems.
• Familiarity with Git version control and Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, self-motivation, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and across teams.
• Familiarity with Solana smart contracts and blockchain standards such as SPL Token, Metaplex, and Token-2022.

Nice To Haves

• DevOps experience with Kubernetes, Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, AWS, and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with NestJS and GraphQL.
• Prior experience maintaining or creating blockchain oracles.
• Relevant certifications or additional coursework.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the product team to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and features.
• Lead research, design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring of the DOMA Protocol for tokenizing domains as real-world assets on Solana.
• Research, implement, and maintain Solana programs for DomainFi applications, including tokenization, name resolution, secondary trading, and lending and borrowing.
• Implement backend services that interface with Solana and traditional DNS registry and registrar infrastructure.
• Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of the protocol and application.
• Maintain code quality through code reviews, testing, and debugging.
• Maintain and optimize the existing codebase and address bugs or other issues.
• Keep up to date with technologies, frameworks, and best practices in web development, blockchain, and smart contract development.
