About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Software V&V Engineer to join our team in Rockford, Illinois. This is a full-time, onsite position focused on ensuring the quality and safety of our software systems, particularly within a regulated, safety-critical environment. The role involves in-depth software testing, adherence to industry standards like DO-178B/C, and utilizing specialized tools for verification and validation.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Software Testing methodologies (Black-box, White-box, boundary value analysis).
  • Expertise in DO-178B/C standards and their application in software verification processes.
  • Experience in Build instrumentation, SCA (Structural Coverage Analysis), build creation, and coverage analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with the RTRT tool for SCA activities.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in avionics systems (e.g., C, Ada).
  • Experience with software testing tools and frameworks for unit, integration (SSIT and HSIT), and system level testing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Experience in working within a regulated environment with a focus on safety-critical systems.
  • Experience with Configuration and change management activities using tools like Synergy CM/Change, Polarion/SVN.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software verification and validation activities according to DO-178B/C standards.
  • Conduct various levels of software testing, including unit, integration (SSIT and HSIT), and system level testing.
  • Utilize build instrumentation and Structural Coverage Analysis (SCA) tools, including RTRT, for coverage analysis.
  • Identify root causes of software defects through excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Document and communicate test results and findings clearly.
  • Manage software configurations and changes using tools like Synergy CM/Change or Polarion/SVN.
  • Work within a regulated environment with a focus on safety-critical systems.
