Requirements

  • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in software quality assurance, software validation, or a related role, preferably in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Basic understanding of software validation and software development life cycle requirements in regulated environments.
  • Strong technical writing, interpersonal communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with product development and lifecycle processes for medical devices, including 510(k) and/or ISO-regulated product development.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304 and software lifecycle processes for medical devices.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with software quality assurance efforts for new product development and product maintenance in R&D.
  • Ensures new products are verified and validated prior to shipment release and meet user needs and requirements.
  • Supports software quality processes, including risk analysis, requirements traceability, defect tracking, and configuration management, and helps implement, validate, and maintain the software tools that support these processes.
  • Develop, extend, and execute test plans and protocols for Sciton’s medical devices, and write reports.
  • Identify and correct defects with the software team.
  • Perform risk analysis on software requirements and changes.
  • Communicate significant issues and recommend process improvements.
