About The Position

The Software Quality Assurance Technician – Level 1 is an individual contributor responsible for planning, executing, and maintaining comprehensive quality assurance activities across complex software systems. This role serves as a technical support in testing methodologies, automation, and defect management and collaborating closely with development, product, and operations teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with min 1 year experience or Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with min 2 years experience required
  • Min 1 year of experience in quality assurance or software testing
  • Familiar with software testing methodologies
  • Ability to quickly learn test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps)
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, APIs, and basic code
  • Analytical skills
  • Disciplined attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Experience testing enterprise, cloud-based, or integrated systems
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for applications and system integration
  • Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Validate software against business requirements, technical specifications
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects to resolution using defect tracking tools
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts
  • Evaluate and contribute to selection of QA tools and methodologies
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to improve software quality and test coverage
  • Work cross-functionally with software developers, product owners and support groups
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and documentation
  • Support release readiness activities and risk assessments
  • Collaborate with Quality System Management to maintain an audit trail for software validation processes
