About The Position

Iteris, Inc. is hiring a Software QA Tester IV in Santa Ana, California. The role collaborates with developers, designers, and product owners to understand feature use cases, review requirements and design documents, and deliver quality testing for transportation and fleet-management software. The position develops and executes quality assurance strategies, plans and performs tests, tracks defects, reports release readiness and results, and contributes to Agile project planning and continuous improvement. Work from home is allowed. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer and Information Technology, or a closely related field, plus three years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst, Tester, Technical Lead, or in a closely related occupation. Required knowledge and skills include transportation software quality assurance; Agile methods; functional, integration, and API testing; accessibility validation; QA standards and transportation compliance; Qase test management and Qase Aiden; JavaScript or Java; Microsoft Playwright; GoodData; SQL; and Microsoft Office tools. Salary offered is $85,051–$108,105 per year.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer and Information Technology, or a closely related field.
At least 3 years of work experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst, Tester, Technical Lead, or in a closely related occupation.
Knowledge of developing and executing quality assurance strategies for transportation software, hardware, and compliance-focused systems.
Experience collaborating with developers and product owners to review requirements and design documents using Agile methodologies.
Knowledge of test planning and execution, defect tracking, root cause analysis/corrective and preventive action, and functional, integration, and API testing.
Experience validating WCAG accessibility, including keyboard navigation, NVDA screen-reader use, and color contrast using WAVE.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and NTCIP 1218, and ability to support DOT safety compliance, regulatory audits, and PRISM-related activities.
Experience tracking results in the Qase test management tool and using Qase Aiden to build automated test scripts.
Proficiency in at least one programming language: JavaScript or Java.
Experience with Microsoft Playwright.
Experience establishing test-environment data integrity using GoodData and analyzing large datasets with SQL and Microsoft Office tools.
Expertise or knowledge sufficient to perform the job duties; this may be gained through employment experience or education.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with developers, designers, and product owners to understand use cases for new features before testing.
Analyze user stories and business requirements to generate test cases.
Provide release testing summary reports to leadership and product teams.
Participate in Scrum activities and feasibility discussions about new features.
Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, test plan development, test case execution, and defect tracking.
Use Agile methods to create epics, user stories, tasks, project plans, and estimates.
Communicate project readiness, status, and potential risks to leads.
Design and optimize application test strategies, scenarios, and cases using templates, agreed processes, and sources ranging from detailed specifications to loosely defined requirements.
Review requirements and design documents with developers and the Quality Assurance Manager to confirm functionality meets technical and business needs.
Coordinate defect resolution and retesting, and quantify and mitigate risk.
Research problems, conduct testing, provide training, and document best practices.
Test fleet-management system scenarios, including vehicle-location tracking and report generation, to ensure system accuracy.
Develop and execute quality assurance strategies for transportation software, hardware, and compliance-focused systems.
Perform test planning and execution, defect tracking, and root cause analysis/corrective and preventive action activities, including functional, integration, and API testing.
Validate WCAG accessibility, including keyboard navigation, NVDA screen-reader use, and color contrast using WAVE.
Apply QA standards and processes, including ISO 9001 and NTCIP 1218, and support DOT safety compliance, regulatory audits, and PRISM-related activities.
Drive continuous improvement in QA processes and track detailed results in Qase; use Qase Aiden to build automated test scripts.
Establish data integrity standards across test environments using GoodData and analyze large datasets using SQL and Microsoft Office tools.
